Who in your tree lived the longest? I have one ancestor who was supposedly about 129 years old when he died - according to " County of Christian, Kentucky: historical and biographical". But this article says he was more like 110-115: old.newstimes.augusta.com/stories/041305/opi_041305_1148_3.shtmlApart from him, the oldest person in my tree was probably my Great Grand Aunt Kitty, who died literally days before her 100th birthday. She was born in 1893 but was still around when I was a child in the 1980s and early 1990s - I used to be amazed and perplexed by the fact that my grandmother, who was among the oldest people I knew, talked about her "Aunt Kitty" and knowing that aunts are usually older than their nieces, I thought "How can anyone be older than Grandmom?" And then she told me her Aunt Kitty was nearly 100 and I didn't think that possible.

My great grandfather lived to be 92 (1879-1971), and was working on his allotment up until a few months before he died, much to the chagrin of his daughter. I did meet him, but was far too young at the time to have any recollection of him.

That's a shame you don't remember him. I don't think I ever met my Aunt Kitty, I'm not sure why, my grandmother talked a lot about her.
