European subforums were created for nations with large amounts of emigrants to North and South America. In colonial times, the major European groups of immigrants to what would become the USA were British (mostly English and Scots-Irish), Dutch and Swiss/German. In the 19th and 20th centuries, many other cultures found their way to North and South America too. If the nation you're researching in does not have a dedicated subforum, please post here, in the general Europe forum. If there is enough discussion about a particular nation, a subforum for it may be created.

Boundaries and nations come and go over time though. What about those whose known European roots extend back into the Frankish Kingdom? That includes most people of more recent French, British, German, Austrian, and who knows who else, lineage surely. Except most are not so lucky with available records. It would be a monstrously huge sub-forum for those eligible to join. Maybe DNA sorting, or some other, as yet unfound, identifier, will arise to sort everyone out. But I think some arising connections we may not want to know.
