blogs.ancestry.com/ancestry/2014/06/04/ancestry-com-focuses-on-core-offerings/Most of you have probably already heard about this but if not, don't panic, they are only shutting down services which they have effectively already abandoned or never developed very well. Mundia.com, MyCanvas.com, the yDNA and mtDNA services they stop selling a while ago, etc. The only one I think people are disappointed is being shut down is GenForum - it's going to be read online which means all pre-existing material will remain but no new posts or responses will be possible. I'm sure eventually they'll just take it all down. But this explains why for months, I have been unable to register at GenForum. It says I registered but then I never get the activation email they claimed to have sent. When I try to log in anyway, it won't let me and when I try to recover my password, I never get an email. I'm glad Mundia is being shut down. I really didn't like that it took my entire tree content from when it was public on ACOM and made it public even after I made my tree private on ACOM. I am disappointed about MyCanvas - I had created a family history book with them which I thought was really good - it's outdated now and I'd always intended on updating it but now I won't be able to. Is anyone else disappointed by anything being shut down by ACOM?

Update: ACOM have listened to their customers for once and instead of retiring MyCanvas, they are passing it off to another company. More info here.
